Delete your account & data

This page explains how to request deletion of your Palkarly account (developer: Palkarly) and the personal data associated with it, what data is deleted, and what may be retained. Palkarly is a community matrimonial platform for the Sourashtra Hindu community.

Delete your account from inside the app

The fastest way to delete your account and data is directly in the Palkarly app:

  1. Open the Palkarly app and sign in.
  2. Go to Me → Settings → Account.
  3. Tap Delete Account.
  4. Confirm your identity: we send a 6-digit code to your registered email, and — if a mobile number is on your account — you also confirm that number. Enter the code to proceed.
  5. Once confirmed, your account and personal data are permanently deleted.

You can also open the account settings directly at https://matrimony.palkarly.com/settings/account after signing in.

Request deletion by email

If you can no longer sign in to the app, email us from the address registered on your account and we will process your deletion request. Contact palkarly2026@gmail.com with the subject “Delete my account”. We respond to verified requests within 30 days.

What data is deleted

When your account is deleted, we permanently remove:

  • Your account details (name, email address, phone number, and login credentials).
  • Your profile information (date of birth, gender, physical details, education, occupation, location, family details, and horoscope details).
  • All photos and horoscope images you uploaded, including the underlying stored files.
  • Your partner preferences, saved searches, interests, shortlists, matches, and profile-view history.
  • Your chat conversations and messages, notifications, and device/notification tokens.
  • Any verification documents you submitted.

Deletion is permanent and cannot be undone. If you only want to hide your profile temporarily, use Deactivate account instead — that keeps your data and lets you reactivate by signing back in.

What may be retained, and for how long

We aim to delete or irreversibly anonymise your personal data as soon as your request is processed. We may retain a limited amount of information only where we are legally required to, or to prevent fraud and abuse, resolve disputes, or enforce our terms. Such records are kept for no longer than required by applicable law (typically up to 90 days for operational logs, and longer only where a specific legal obligation applies), and are deleted once that purpose is fulfilled.

Delete some data without deleting your account

You do not have to delete your whole account to remove specific data. While signed in to the Palkarly app you can, at any time:

  • Delete a photo: open Me → your profile photos, select a photo, and choose Delete. The photo and its stored file are removed immediately.
  • Remove a verification document: open Me → Verification, and delete any pending document you uploaded.
  • Clear profile details: open Me → Edit profile and clear or update fields (such as family details, education, occupation, or horoscope details), then save.

Data you delete this way is removed right away and is not retained, except for limited records we may be legally required to keep as described above. If you would like us to delete specific data on your behalf, email palkarly2026@gmail.com with the details and we will action verified requests within 30 days.
